We are building a free tool (check it out here: Discover) to support all applicants — from community benefit organizations, to innovative clean energy companies, to local governments — to find funding across the ecosystem. We need more engineering capacity to (1) build and maintain our data ingestion strategy and (2) build integrations with dozens of state sources.
We have a new administration starting soon. If someone sent you this JD, they probably thought of you because you’ve been obsessed about making a highly leveraged impact in climate for quite some time. You are likely very aware of potential risks of the next 4 years.
To ease (some of) your anxiety: we spent 2024 getting federal funding into states and local governments. States, the DOE, and everyone in-between had this shared goal because once funding is in state hands, it cannot be clawed back into federal control. Now those funds need to be spent from states and local governments. In other words, there is funding for the energy and climate transition, but accessing it is as hard as ever.
As a ** engineering intern** you will work closely with our Discover team to increase our coverage to all states. Here’s what you can expect:
